autobahn craftwerks aka autobahn skunkwerks will be heading west this august with a vintage bmw motorcycle, to attack a few land speed records at the infamous bonneville salt flats. A select group of anonymous airheaders have combined ideas in a ground-up construction of a vintage R50/2 frame, coupled with a circa 1954 500cc aircooled bmw engine. Stay tuned as we will add continuing updated pictures of construction till we leave for the salt flats.

Autobahn has just purchase new tire mounting and spin balancing equipment. Newer bikes with non-axle rear wheels, which require spin balancing, can be mounted at Autobahn. Tires can be purchased at Autobahn or bring your own in for mounting & balancing.
